  1. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; lumps are okay.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
  6. Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve warm with syrup, fruit, or your favorite toppings.
