Pancakes
Ingredients
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Butter or oil for cooking
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- In another bowl, whisk the milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix; lumps are okay.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.
- Pour 1/4 cup of batter for each pancake onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until golden brown.
- Repeat with the remaining batter. Serve warm with syrup, fruit, or your favorite toppings.
Tips
- For fluffier pancakes, let the batter rest for 5 minutes before cooking.
- Add blueberries, chocolate chips, or sliced bananas to the batter for extra flavor.
